How To Get Your Dads, Grandpas, and Other Good Men More Involved in Your Students' Lives -- for the Sake of Their Educational, Social, and Emotional Development -- at School and Home
“I think our dads participation has risen at least 25%, since our program adopted your newsletter!!!"
-- Mary Green, Director, Sault
Tribe Head Start and Early Head Start
Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan
How would it be to get “good" Father-Involvement information into your DADS’ hands -- so they’ll see how much Dads Matter -- and to motivate them to get more involved at your school?
That'd be great, wouldn't it?
After all, you know children do better, academically, when dads get involved. Research by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) shows this conclusively.
FACT: Elementary students get a full letter-grade higher -- across the boards -- when their DAD has a "high level of involvement" at their school.
...Things like going to parent-teacher conferences, volunteering to grade papers, showing up at school events, serving food at the Ice Cream Social, and communicating with the teachers -- a minimum of two times a semester -- all qualify as "high level involvement!"
Isn't that amazing?
I suppose I should point out... every dad you can get more involved at school means one more child who's apt to do better at your school. (Oh, and by the way, I should mention that all this father involvement is contagious. You see, that one dad you get more involved will help to recruit other dads -- by virtue of his "visibility" at your school.)
But this is the part that makes me mad... dads out there -- sitting in their cars waiting to pick up their kids. Or they drop them off and dash away. And we permit them to keep on "NOT" participating... and not feeling 100% welcome. (Yes, occasionally some "involved dads" come into the building, but it's sort of like seeing deer in the meadow in the evening: "There's one...and look... there's another one!")
This is the bottom line: You're not doing nearly enough -- or as much as you WANT to -- to make your dads more "visibly involved" at your school. Isn't that true?
Let me say this right now... it really isn't your fault. How are you supposed to know what to tell the dads to get them involved? Plus, it's not exactly like you have *extra time* to devote to talking to "every single dad, grandpa, and other man" linked to ALL the students at your school.
This is what I can tell you...your dads are hungry for good information about father-involvement. (And, frankly, your MOMS need this information, too -- to help get the dads involved!)
I'm going to give you a PLAN to Get Your Fathers Involved. And it's a whole lot easier than you might imagine...
"How To
Double (or even Triple) Your Current
Level of Father-Involvement AND Boost Your Students’ Academic Achievement in
the Process”
...But first, let me ask you a question... have you ever had a father-involvement expert with a track record of nine years of publishing father involvement information for schools offer to help you meet your father-involvement goals? If not, you're at a huge disadvantage, because you're basically starting from "scratch."
But here is the kicker -- you really don't have to reinvent the wheel. I've DONE the legwork. I KNOW how to get your dads involved. And I'm going to tell you about it.
How would it be to know JUST-WHAT-TO-SAY to your DADS, moms, step-fathers, grandparents, and your parent-group -- about Father Involvement? That would be awesome, wouldn't it?
Subscribe to The Down To Earth Dad monthly newsletter, and you will GET MORE DADS INVOLVED! (Yes, that's the PLAN) -- And it really works!

" I am overjoyed with what I am receiving. My families here, with that first article, they were just blown away. They were just totally floored. I am happy. Ecstatic! It has done wonders. Since the newsletter came out, I did have an increase in my male involvement.
I'm getting more and more hits at our Head Start website too. You have made my year because it has been such a struggle to get this (male involvement) program off the ground. "

...The Uncomfortable "Secret Truth" About
LACK of Father Involvement In Children's Lives...
A mountain of research over the past 30 years shows that kids without involved dads are at an “Increased Risk” for:
· Growing up Poor
· Getting into Trouble with the Law
· Abusing Drugs and Alcohol
· Becoming Teen Parents
· Dropping out of School
· Committing Suicide…
Isn’t that SAD?
Those "Stats" stay with a person -- especially that "suicide" one. (Kids without involved dads are 10 times more likely to commit suicide than children with involved fathers.)
True, many kids who are "at an increased risk" for these negative outcomes are going to be "okay" -- because they have you, and others, looking out for them)... But many are NOT going to be okay -- because they lack "significant male" involvement -- at school and home.
But you can do something about that -- by subscribing to The Down To Earth Dad for your parents.
